Join Our Team

This is an exciting call for students to join our team of co-ordinators of the Women in Law Organisation Mentoring Program at ANU (‘WILO’).  Applications will close Friday 24 May and the outcome will be advised by Monday 27 May. As participants you know better than most how the program can make a difference for female law students, and would be invaluable to help us improve the program in the future.

About the position

You will be working on a voluntary basis in a small team to coordinate the program. It is a great opportunity to contribute to our community, to meet other ANU students, as well as students from UC and professionals from the legal sector in Canberra.

Being part of the coordinating committee involves:

·       Developing ideas to improve the program

·       Processing mentor/mentee applications

·       Event planning

·       Liaising with the university, the LSS, WLA and UC

We do not allocate formal roles within the organising committee, nor do we impose any type of hierarchical structure. The process is shared and collaborative, and tasks are distributed between the group based on skills and capacity. We are looking for people who are enthusiastic, proactive and eager to contribute to a shared goal.

As some of us will be graduating at the end of 2019, we hope those committee members will be able to help take over the running of the program.

The program is run with the support of the ANU Law Students’ Society (LSS) and the ACT Women Lawyers Association (WLA). We also work closely with the UC Women Lawyers Mentoring Program to coordinate our efforts.
